Luis Alberto Moya, MD

Board Certified in Family Medicine - Medical Director

Luis Alberto Moya, MD studied Science and Medicine in the United States and abroad, graduating over 10 years ago. He completed his residency at Texas Tech University in El Paso, Texas and his internship at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Florida. He has also worked on Clinical Immunology and HIV at Jackson Memorial Hospital, prior to joining the Baptist Health System, where he stayed for 2 years. He is currently an active member of the American Academy of Family Physician and the American Medical Association. He was born in Colombia, South America and moved to the United States in 1993. He speaks Spanish and English. He has many awards and certifications. He is Board Certified in Family Medicine, received the James Jett Award for outstanding graduating family medicine resident in 2012 and the Golden Skates Award for having seen the highest number of patients in a family center between 2009 and 2012.

Juan Borja, DO

Board Certified in Family Medicine

Juan Borja, DO is a Board Certified Physician, specializing in Family Practice. He was born in the Philippines, and raised in New Jersey. Dr. Borja attended Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ where he received his Bachelors of Art in English. After obtaining his Bachelor's degree, he attended Western University of Health Sciences College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific and receive his DO. He completed his Rotating Internship at Union Hospital in Union, New Jersey and his Family Practice Residency at Broward General Medical Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Borja has a particular interest in Sports Medicine and experience in using Nutrition and Fitness to promote disease prevention. He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association and American Academy of Family Practitioners.

Michael McKenzie, MD

Board-Certified Family Physician

Dr. Michael McKenzie is a Board-Certified Family Physician who has been practicing in South Florida for the past 15 years. Originally from East Elmhurst, NY, he obtained his Bachelors of Science in Biology from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, VA. He then obtained his M.D. degree from Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) Escuela de Medicina in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. He completed his residency training in Family Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Southwest Oklahoma Family Practice Residency Program in Lawton, Oklahoma. After completing residency, he relocated to South Florida and has been in private practice ever since. Dr. McKenzie is bilingual, fluent in Spanish, sees patients of all ages, and has a particular interest in the clinical application of cannabinoids as a complementary/alternative therapy. Just like his favorite sports team The Miami Heat, Dr. McKenzie values being part of a winning team. That is why he joined the team at Hallandale Medical Center.

Oana Ciurea, PA-C

Certified Physician Assistant

Oana Ciurea is originally from Romania. She is a Certified Physician Assistant. Having worked with a Rheumatologist, she brings a wealth of experience to the office. Oana is fluent in English, Romanian, and Spanish. Before dedicating her time to patients Oana also obtained a degree Associates in arts and additionally an Associates in Science and Design. Working hand in hand with the doctors and staff at Hallandale Medical Center she is a great an integral part of our team.

Catherine Funes, PsyD

Licensed Neuropsychologist

Catherine joins us as a fully bi-lingual therapist with extensive experience in individual and group psychotherapy, neuropsychological testing, and neurological disorders. She completed her undergraduate and masters level training at Florida International University. She then continued with her doctoral training in Clinical Psychology at Carlos Albizu University, and her predoctoral internship at UM/Jackson Memorial Hospital, Neuropsychology Department. We are very excited that she will be beginning her Fellowship in Neuropsychology with us.

Stuart G. Gold, PsyD., PhD

Licensed Neuropsychologist

Dr. Stuart G. Gold has bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland, and M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University, a M.S. in Psychology, a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology with specialization in Neuropsychology from the Nova Southeastern University. He has over 20 years of work experience in Florida, New Jersey and Maryland. He is the former Director of Practicum Training and Director of Acute Adult Inpatient Services at the Dept. of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the University of Miami / Jackson Memorial Health System. He has multiple medical publications in different Medical and Psychological journals and has given over 20 presentations in Miami, New Orleans, Washington D.C., Orlando, Baltimore, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Vancouver, Canada.
